Rose Awarded Para Coaching Award

The club’s success rolls on…

The weekend of the British Swimming Coaches Association (BSCA) Annual Conference and Awards Dinner was a weekend packed full of talks from coaches of world renowned swimmers, Stefano Morini (Italian Coach of Year), Patrick Pearson (National Coach, Netherlands), Graham Wardell (City of Cardiff Head Coach) and Russ Barber (City of Sheffield Head Coach), to name a few. The weekend provided ample opportunity to make contacts, compare practices, methods and successes and take away ideas and knowledge that could be applied directly to our programme.

The evening of Saturday 24th September was a time to celebrate the success of our Nation’s swimmers and their coaches at the Annual Awards Dinner. This proved to be a winning evening for Manchester which saw our Head Coach, Mark Rose, pick up the award for the Para Coaching Award of Excellence following the success at the Rio Paralympic Games 2016, in particular with COMAST swimmer Hannah Russell (2 x Golds, 1 x Bronze, 1 x World Record).

Off the back of this achievement Mark will now go forward to be nominated at the Sports Coach UK Awards held later in the year. From everyone at COMAST we wish Mark a huge congratulations for his achievements and the best of luck with his nomination.

This is Manchester we do things differently around here.
